Zion Yoga Retreat Reflections

This yoga retreat was different than any other we’ve done thus far. The environment always gives a different perspective, and this was no exception to that rule. There was such contrast in color, elevation, space, and energy, that you could feel your being reacted differently. Physically, we put extra demands on our bodies. When the breath is harder to catch, you are more in tune with when the next one arrives, and that keeps you present and alert. You live in the moment, and in gratitude that the next breath comes, and that your body continues to take you onwards, up, down, and around. You marvel at the majesty of the mountains, but also at your own capabilities. It was an honor to hold our practices in this extraordinary landscape with these yogis, and to explore their yogic landscapes, as well. We are also thankful for expert Utahan guidance and excellent meals from the knowledgeable and kind folks from @walkerwellnessretreats . We all made it back to our respective homes, safe and sound, and I’m finding my way back to sea level, where there is a different awe to contemplate and appreciate: the pounding sea, the fluctuating weather, the familiar, steady tide of community and purpose, my home and my loves. Thank you to my partner in yoga, the good cop, @yinjunkie, for your singular talents. Working with you is one of the greatest gifts in my life. Here’s to many more adventures together.
